Trick or treat? We say trick AND treat ? This time of year is filled with all kinds of delicious (but BAD for you) treats. Those tiny smiles need your guidance this spooky season and we’re here to make sure you deliver treats to make your kiddo (and dentist) smile.
As much as we’d love to make or bake some healthy options, homemade treats are a no-no. Sorry mama, I wouldn’t let my kid eat anything from a stranger that wasn’t professionally wrapped. The good news is there are plenty of individually wrapped healthier treats to satisfy even the most discriminating goblins.

Trust me when I tell you, moms that see a granola bar instead of a snickers bar will thank you. The sugar high they will experience Halloween night just got a little bit more tolerable.

We’re not saying your little ghost or goblin shouldn’t partake in ANY of the candy on Halloween. But just be mindful of WHAT and HOW MUCH candy they are consuming. Limit candy consumption to just one piece per day and choose candies that don’t stick to teeth. Dark chocolate is always preferred over milk chocolate because of its antioxidant benefits. The key to Halloween is to teach moderation and proper dental hygiene after candy consumption.
