Originally from southeast Michigan, she and her family relocated to the Hampton Roads area in 2022 and enjoy the warm weather and outdoor activities. If you catch her saying “pop” instead of “soda,” just know that’s her mid-west accent coming through!
Dr. Datien was one of only six students selected for a combined Bachelor of Science and Doctor of Dental Surgery program at the University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry. After completing dental school, she went on to receive a certificate from The Ohio State University College of Dentistry in Public Health and Pediatric Dentistry. During this program she worked on a bus going to schools within the Columbus area providing dental treatment to elementary students. Realizing her passion for pediatric care, she then completed her pediatric residency training at MetroHealth Medical Center in Cleveland, Ohio, where she was named chief resident in her second year. She had the opportunity to work closely with other pediatric medical providers on several complex care teams, giving her the knowledge and experience to understand the challenges that come with special healthcare needs families.
Interestingly, Dr. Datien comes from a family of dentists. Both of her parents, one grandfather and her husband are all general dentists. And in case you’re wondering, yes they talk about teeth a lot!
Dr. Datien is a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry and a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. She is an active member of the Virginia Society of Pediatric Dentistry and Southeastern Society of Pediatric Dentistry. She works hard to advocate for better access to care for children’s dental needs.
Dr. Datien and her family enjoy local community events, being outdoors and traveling. She also enjoys riding and competitively showing horses, as well as cooking for her family.
My boys love going to the dentist, Dr. Bobby and all of his staff at the Williamsburg office are amazing!

Small BIG practice. They have several offices but they focus on the little things that small practices have and big don't. Like on-time appointments and taking time with little kids that panic. Have always impressed me.
